The Waldensian Lodge is the perfect place for your affordable holiday in the centre of Florence, just steps away from Palazzo Pitti and Ponte Vecchio. In a few minutes, you can also walk to the city's main tourist attractions such as the Uffizi Gallery, Palazzo Strozzi and Piazza della Signoria. The Santa Maria Novella train station is well connected and you can walk there in less than 20 minutes.
Finally, you can drive up to the Lodge to load and unload luggage, if you make advance arrangements with the reception. Paid private and public parking spaces are available nearby.
Travel information and directions to the Foresteria Valdese in Florence
From Santa Maria Novella Central Station, it is a 20-minute walk. If your luggage is particularly heavy or bulky we suggest you to take a taxi.
Public transport: please go to https://www.ataf.net/ or contact the Reception.
From Florence Airport: take the Tramvia Linea T2 Vespucci. You can also take a taxi, it gets here in 15-20 minutes and costs about 20.00 €. In alternative, you can take the shuttle bus that runs every 30 minutes and takes you to Santa Maria Novella Central Station (the cost is 6.00 €).
By car: leave the motorway at the “Firenze Impruneta” exit and continue in the direction of the centre of Florence. You can enter the centre for the sole purpose of unloading the luggage from Porta Romana along Via Romana and Via Maggio. At the end of Via Maggio, turn left on Lungarno Gucciardini, drive until you arrive at the traffic light and turn left at Via dei Serragli, 49 (black numbering).
If you come by car, remember to tell the Reception your license plate number as you check in. On the Internet, the reception employee will erase the sign of your entry into the Limited Traffic Zone. Each entry costs 1.00 €, as dictated by the City of Florence.
